Founded in 1967, the Rhinebeck Historical Society (RHS) maintains and manages an extensive archives dating back to the 1700s. These archives are protected in a climate-controlled facility at the Starr Library in Rhinebeck, New York and are available to anyone, either on request or during our scheduled hours of operation (listed above). A catalog of the archived materials can be accessed here.
Access to the archival material may be arranged through the RHS archivist, Michael Frazier, by emailing him at michaelfrazier@earthlink.net. You can also reach out to our P.O. box address (listed above).
At our location, you can view historic Rhinebeck photos, postcards, documents, and maps. We also offer assistance on finding information related to cemeteries, ancestry, family histories, genealogy, historic homes, and architecture. A schedule of monthly educational programs on Rhinebeck history– free and open to the public– and our quarterly newsletter can be accessed here.
